“The Ghosts in the Stones”

Asthall___Church

Following their sell-out performances of “In the Footsteps of the Mitfords” in 2012 and 2013, Scary Little Girls has devised a new Living Literature Event to celebrate the history of Asthall Manor, from its beginnings in the 1600s to its life as a World War 1 convalescent home; its inspirational role in the development of the outrageous Mitford family to its re-creation now as on form, the celebrated exhibition of sculpture in stone.

Small groups of up to 15 will set off at twenty minute intervals along a special route around the house, gardens and river, and performers from Scary Little Girls will bring the heart and heritage of this unique environment alive through the work of writers such as Aphra Benn, Andrew Marvell, George Eliot, E. Nesbit, Wilfred Owen and of course Nancy Mitford.

Date: Friday 4th July

Times: Walks start every 20 minutes from 6pm until the last walk leaves at 8.20pm. Walks last approx one hour each.

Tickets: £15, click here to book
