St Austell, Cornwall

We are in the early stages of planning the Living Word Walk for St Austell and already we are very excited by the performance possibilities hidden in this historic market town!

Following a selection process involving Rebecca Mordan and Kate Kerrow from Scary Little Girls and writers Penelope Shuttle and Victoria Field, we are putting together a collection of writing that includes the best from Cornish writing new and old.

The actors and artists who will be performing on the Walks will chose from this collection in order to bring Cornish Words to life this summer - dates to follow soon!

Watch this page as our research develops and if you have secrets or suggestions about St Austell please do get in touch with us on walks@scarylittlegirls.co.uk.

This Walk is funded by FEAST and we are jolly grateful to them!

FEAST

Making great art happen across Cornwall

FEAST is a programme to make great art happen in Cornish villages and towns.  The ambition is to touch and inspire people of all ages and backgrounds and generate a whole new wave of creative activity in our communities.  There will be new opportunities for more people to enjoy events as audiences, but the focus will be on taking part, bringing people together and on animating local celebrations and cultural life.    FEAST will be a two year journey that harnesses the many talents of artists living and working in Cornwall.  They will be firing imaginations and sparking inspirational events right across our rural region.

The investment for FEAST comes principally from Arts Council England and it is managed by the Cultural Services, Cornwall Council.
